EBSCO Discovery Service
Many school libraries have been challenged by getting adequate use of their electronic resources.  School Media Specialists/Teacher Librarians constantly tell us that their students and teachers have to dig to find the resources, the resources are not intuitive, there are too many to choose from, and the list goes on. It makes many libraries ask why do we continue to invest money in electronic resources when they do not get used, even though we know they are incredibly valuable? EBSCO Information Services has a solution and welcomes you to attend an upcoming session to learn more.  EBSCO Discovery Service creates a portal to nearly all of your electronic resources (including your catalog!), allowing students and teachers to search from one easy-to-use point of access. By standardizing the platform for the resources, patrons do not have to wrestle with learning the ins and outs of several different interfaces.  EDS will allow patrons to quickly access what is most important: the information they’re looking for.

Beads on One String: How We’re More Alike than We Are Different
Now in it’s Fifth Printing, Dennis Warner’s “Beads on One String” is used throughout the United States as a fun way of bringing anti bullying education into the elementary schools by incorporating music and art, and using the curriculum connection developed by the Department of Education at St. Cloud State University. Beads on One String is about our connectedness in the world, like beads on a necklace where every bead is a different size, shape and color but all held together by one string. Beads on One String began as an uptempo, meaningful song demonstrating how we’re more alike than we are different. Award winning musician and author Dennis Warner presents an uplifting “behind the scenes” glance at the making of his successful “Beads on One String” book/song/curriculum. www.BeadsOnOneString.net 320-558-6940

Small Group Instruction for the Intelligent Classroom
As your district adopts teaching styles that allow several small groups to learn in centers, villages, or differentiated instructional settings, it is critical to be in tune with each group for maximum effectiveness. Experience the newest technical innovation...FLEXCAT classroom audio. Now it is possible for teachers to be in two, three or even six places at once in the classroom setting. Teachers can monitor individual small groups, quickly redirect off-task behaviors, and encourage student collaboration. Simultaneously. Teachers using FLEXCAT can still communicate with the entire class but they can also deliver instruction to only one group and listen in on any one group at any time. Groups can also use the unit to communicate with the rest of the class. Learn why one pilot teacher said, “The level of conversation I hear with FLEXCAT is astounding. I’m able to catch kids shining!”
