iPads and Screencasts: Authentic Practice, Sharing and Assessment

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

Come and explore the free iPad apps ShowMe and ScreenChomp as tools for learning through authentic practice, sharing, and assessment across content areas. Student learning goes far beyond paper and pencil with these apps, which provide an opportunity for students to show (and narrate) what they know. Students-created screencasts are a great way to share students’ knowledge with their families, friends, teachers, and other students around the world. They provide an excellent basis for self-reflection, peer teaching, peer assessment, and differentiation. I will share resources and examples based on my experiences using ShowMe and ScreenChomp in my 3rd and 6th grade math classes. Participants are invited to bring their own technology to try out the apps and access resources referenced in the session.
